Favorite CompTIA Security+ Course
CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-005) is a vast collection of information that can be summed up in a single word: functional. The new objectives allow learners to study Linux, from user management to security to service configuration. CompTIA Security+ Course has lifted the bar with the new Linux+ by making the curriculum more than just a list of commands for Linux newcomers.

Git seems to be ruling the world these days. Git, for those who are unfamiliar, is a version control system for developers. It enables users to clone centrally stored code, make changes, and commit those changes back to a repository. However git has expanded well beyond the sphere of developers and the CompTIA Security+ Course recognizes the relevance of this tool by presenting a basic yet effective list of Git abilities that any IT professional should be familiar with.

Vim and Its Importance
After all these years, I’ll say it: I enjoy Vim. It is simple, straightforward, and precise. I dislike large word processors that try to think for me by inserting invisible formatting instructions around my text. Because I prefer basic editors, this program is automatically one of my favorites in Linux+.
Vim was once ubiquitous on Linux distributions. Now, you’re just as likely to discover Nano installed as Vim, but I’ll always reinstall Vim. Because Linux configurations are stored in text files, changing them requires the ability to edit text files, which Vim gives. The Linux+ objectives cover enough Vim to manage basic editing and a few methods to make the process much more efficient.

I’m unable to contain my excitement.
Containers are one of the more recent IT buzzwords for a reason. Container-based virtualization frequently streamlines deployments, allows for flexible setup, and efficiently uses available resources. Because Linux is the de facto container platform, it’s no surprise that this new topic is one of my favorites. Pulling, operating, and maintaining containers are described in detail, stressing the relevance of the technology.
The third item in the series delves deeper into how CompTIA Security+ Course containers in practice.
Just three?
It was challenging to limit myself to three “favorite” Linux+ topics. How could I choose only the three areas and tools mentioned above when so many others exist? To whet your Linux+ hunger, I’ll sneak in a quick list of the topics I contemplated covering in this series:

In the Spotlight: Linux
The CompTIA Security+ Course exam topic is not entirely new. Many objectives concentrate on the critical elements that sysadmins must understand. Networking, configuration, installation, and performance are all essential subjects. However, the three stated above stand out in my mind as intriguing, relevant, and possibly a little entertaining. These things propel Linux+ (XK0-005) above more basic Linux courses and into something that anyone can profit from.
CCNA CBT Nuggets
- CBT Nuggets covers a wide range of topics, beginning with,
- OSPFv2 for IPv4, EIGRP for IPv4, OSPFv3 for IPv6, and EIGRP for IPv6 are all routing protocols.
- STP, EtherChannel (PAGP, LACP, and static), and VLANs
- MLPPP, GRE, PPPoE, and PPP are examples of WAN technologies.
- A server’s quality of service (quality of service) involves shaping and prioritizing voice, data, video, and marking.
- SNMPv2 and SNMPv3 are device monitoring protocols.
- AAA (Authorization, Authentication, and Accounting) device management utilizing RADIUS and TACACS+.
